My Exploration of art is an attempt to capture not only the beauty of various forms as they exist, but to seek out both the social and emotional experiences that go hand in hand with the visual aspect of the work.

Through the deconstruction and its reconstruction and interaction with other forms, both known and imagined the viewer is drawn into a dialog within themselves. The imagery may trigger emotions, memories, questions and perhaps all three. These will be unique to the individual based on their own experiences.

The final image is a result of several layers of separate and sometimes unrelated paintings each newer layer obscuring and sometimes obliterating those below it, repeated until the canvas asks for nothing more.

A loose yet definitive brush stroke builds images and as the painting nears completion forms that once seemed lost reappear framed as vignettes in the negative space of other forms. Hiding in the background a shape or movement of color peeks toward the outside world. The surface of the finished painting becomes an invitation asking the viewer to step inside and linger a while.

In the process of building a new work, ideas arise, asking to be developed. Ideas continue to evolve and grow with each additional work, providing a constant evolution of ideas and images, each pointing to a path and saying, " Go here, lets see where it might lead."
